The experience of recent years has taught us that the area and the climate are suitable for producing European top quality fruit. The land and the many hours of sunshine provide a tasteful well-coloured fruit with a high sugar content and high hardness. The weight of the specific types of apples is 8 to 10 percent higher than in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. A crate, which in these countries often holds 320 kilos, contains circa 350 kilos in Hungary. The Breaburn en Fuji varieties even hold 375 kilo. The foregoing means lots of solid, high sugar content and a fine hardness of ususally more than 6 kg/cm2. A shelf life outside ULO cooling often doubles the normal; three to four weeks is not a problem.
